All Wayne Law students are automatic members of the Student Bar Association (SBA). Each year, the SBA democratically elects a new Executive Board and a class of Governors (class-specific representatives) to the Student Board of Governors (SBG).
The SBG exists to represent and support the student body in all matters. This includes conducting faculty interviews, addressing student concerns, and hosting events and programs that better the student experience.
For example, the SBG host social events throughout the year, such as monthly "Bar Review" socials, a Halloween Party, and Barrister's Ball in May. We also organize charitable events & programs, like the annual Ambulance Chase Charity 5K and the Wayne Law Student Pantry. Finally, the SBG maintains a Student Mentorship Program.
The SBG is also the official host of Wayne Law apparel sales and the publisher of Wayne Law's monthly newspaper, The Advocate.
Join one of SBG's Committees! This is a great way to contribute in a material way to one of the SBG's specific events or programs.
Run for Governor in Fall or Winter elections! As governor, you can participate in faculty interviews, plan and volunteer at student events like Barrister's Ball, help design Wayne Law merchandise, and more.
